Overview 

The main objective of LUCA program is to successfully upgrade METRO’s Finance to SAP S/4HANA to ensure business continuity and avoid security and compliance risks. The LUCA program is, in addition, a critical enabler of METRO’s strategy to achieve standardization, harmonization, and centralization.

This role requires:
• Deep understanding of master data (MD) used in SAP FI-CO – mainly: GL accounts (SCOA), financial statements, cost centers, and CO hierarchies
or
• Solid experience in Finance and Accounting processes (e.g., GL, CO), a strong willingness to learn master data execution processes, and the ability to support standardization of finance data structures across METRO. Project experience in implementing new solutions and aligning them with financial strategies is also essential.  
 

Key Responsibilities 

• Primary contact for all MDG-F-related issues and questions from the Digital Finance implementation partner and METRO colleagues
• Involvement in the implementation of Master Data Governance for Finance in SAP S/4HANA
• Collaboration on integrative project activities related to SAP FI and SAP CO modules
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with quality audits and governance requirements
• Cooperation with the Digital Finance PMO, including cross-checking project documents
• Support process leads and owners by providing insights into architectural decisions and their alignment with business needs
• Ensure architectural governance by enforcing adherence to SAP standards, design principles, and best practices
• Provide ongoing support to address post-go-live issues and stabilize the solution
• Identify opportunities for process and system optimization based on business feedback

Qualification and Experience 

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business economics or equivalent education, combined with solid knowledge in Financial Accounting
• Professional SAP Expertise: 5 years’ experience in SAP plus experience in one of the following SAP modules – MDG-F, FI/CO or Maintenance of Finance Master Data
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with various levels of the organization and external partners 
• Certifications: Finance-related SAP Certifications are advantageous 
• Industry Knowledge: Experience in retail industry is preferred to tailor SAP solutions effectively 
• Languages: Excellent command of English (written and spoken) 
• Travel: Ability to travel is required (around 20-25% of working time)
